On 2nd November, a small team from Petworth Places will be walking the first leg of The Petworth Way Trail, a scenic 12-mile route through the stunning West Sussex, celebrating the landscape, local stories, and community spirit that makes Petworth so special.
This isn’t just a walk, it’s an opportunity to support Petworth Community Gardens who brings people together through gardening, wellbeing projects, and sustainability initiatives.
Discover the Heritage of The Petworth Way Trail
The Petworth Way Trail was originally envisioned by Gerald Gresham-Cooke, whose passion for the landscape inspires the creation of this now well-loved route. With support from Malinka from Rural Strides, the trail connects walkers to the rich history, scenery, and hidden gems of Sussex Walks.
We’ve been inspired by the trail through Rural Strides and The Great Sussex Way and now we’re thrilled to experience it for ourselves.

This year, Petworth Community Gardens celebrates 20 years of connecting the community through gardening and nature-based projects. Their 20/20 Campaign aims to raise £20,000 to fund wellbeing continue initiatives and support the local community, and we’re proud to help.
