Poached Pears with Blueberry & Mint Jam, and Granola

This month at The Hungry Guest, we’re celebrating our poached pears with blueberry and mint jam, served with our crunchy granola. A seasonal dessert full of fresh, vibrant flavours.

Ingredients:

3 x Mereworth pears
1 x Hungry Guest blueberry and mint jam
100g x Hungry Guest granola
1L water

Method:

  1. Peel the pears, leaving the stem on
  2. Bring the water to the boil with half a jar of the blueberry and mint jam
  3. Place the pears in and reduce the pan to a slow simmer
  4. Carefully turn the pears every 5 minutes
  5. Cook for approximately 15 minutes
  6. Remove from the poaching liquor when a knife can go through the pear easily
  7. Reduce the poaching liquor by two thirds
  8. Pour the reduced sauce over the pears
  9. Finish with the granola
